Come along for the ride
This week’s wrap
includes a rant about Pride
Rainbow flags in force
The drinking gets heavy
The crowds are roaming
Like at the "Fountains of Trevi"
I'm a big fan of marches
That promote divercity
People side by side
against a shared adversity
But what really winds me up
And has made me quite bitter
Is those who
picnic beach lunch
And for afters leave litter!
"It's a first world problem!
What about deforestation?"
"You mean cutting back the hedges
at Preston park station?"
Okay sarky dad rant done
I am a save the planet geek
and here’s a brief summary
Of my middle class week
Monday dragged on
Like a frame by frame Brexit
Over to you Boris
We’ll give you 2 months to fix it.
“Brexit jokes are done mate,
so is political satire!"
I'd give your song a LIKE but you'd have to call me a liar!”
Tuesday was windier
Than a Brussel sprout factory
The mood in our office
Was at best satisfactory
Wednesday I had a sea swim
More tug boat than speed
It's my cold water solution
for when I'm OC Deed.
My wife's head of department
"The kids summer break"
When I asked "What's for tea?"
I nearly got hit with a rake
Supper was carrot slices,
banana and pom bear
It’s a bit early for wine love?
“It’s a six o clock somewhere!”
Thursday was a warm one
I was sweating cobs!
I spent the morning checking life rings,
afternoon counting key fobs
I went to Jui Jitsu
and really felt my age
I make a noise when I stand up
hoping it's just a phase!
I’m 20 years older
and struggle to keep up
Nearly tripped over a crash mat
and felt faint in the warm up!
Friday day off!
So what does that look like?
Several hours of swearing
With a paw patrol push bike
How do you feel about laminate?
Darling I just couldn’t care
"Can you pass me that corkscrew,
I'm sure it's six o clock somewhere!"
